We started our journey to Tokyo on the 29th of December. We initially wanted to take a flight there but it was fully booked so we had to look for other alternatives. My friends had suggested us to take ferry instead of driving there because the distance from Tokushima to Tokyo was about 600km and it would be tiring for my hubby to drive alone. So that's what we did, we took a ferry, cruising along the Pacific Ocean to Tokyo. It was our first cruise on Pacific ocean. An experience we would never forget...:)
The route of our cruise...
We boarded this ferry with our car
If it wasn't because of the freezing cold wind, I would have just sat on the bench and just watched the sea...it was very calming.
Sya found it too cold...brrrr...
Our room was on the 3rd floor
Let's check their facilities...
Big spacious restaurant
Game center for the bored passengers...
Vending machines: Drinks, junk food and meals are available...
Also not shown here were TV rooms, public bath, shower rooms and the toilets. *wink*
What I found most interesting was,
The beautiful sunset views...they were just awesome!!!
View from our window...
Sya's idea of the trip...:)
It was an overnight trip, we reached the port of Tokyo at 5am in the morning for our next destination...stay tuned!

Brilliant sunset!! It's so wonderful!!
We went on an overnight cruise too last summer, from Stockholm to Riga,Latvia. I had the opportunity to capture the sunset view, but it was not as nice as this one!
Aunty Nana,
Wah! So jealous! Hey...did I tell you about the hovercraft journey from Matsuyama to Hiroshima? Awesome! Is the service still available? purrrr....meow!
Hi I amsterdam!
Thank you. The sun set very quickly. I almost missed it! But it was definitely a memorable experience. Stockholm to Riga cruise? Sounds luxury! Do share with us! *wink*
Hi Cat-in-Sydney!
I hope you are enjoying your holiday! :)
It seems Matsuyama-Hiroshima hovercraft still operating! Huhu...I guess something do remain the same *wink*
Hi Nana, Holy Smoke! I love this! Next time I go Japan must try this ferry.
I took the Shinkansen before....
Love your pics....
Doesn't look very crowded?
How many vehicles can it take, passengers?
And how much in US$?
Very interesting and exciting, this ferry.
As Japanese food not on top of my list 'to eat'...any other kinds to stop my starving? Ha ha.
Best regards, Lee.
Wah bestnya...I suka pegi cruising2 ni but tak pnahlah pegi cruise jauh2 that would enable me to snap photos of sunset during the cruise. Love your sunset photos..Cantik! Looking forward to more photos of your trip :)
Hi Lee!
Thank you for your compliments. Nope, it was not too crowded. I did some checking for you.
The ferry can fit 75 cars, 25 trucks and 100 trailers. Fare for one person was about 335USD. You can go with or without your car. If you take a car with you, the fare depends on the length of the car. In our case, the car, which was less than 5m and one driver cost about USDCAD. All in all, about 900CAD.
It was a wonderful trip. Not very luxury but comfortable. :)
Hi TK!
Thanks a lot. I pun first time pergi cruising. Some people might get seasick but it was OK for us. Yeah, I didn't expect to catch the moment. I actually ran from the room to catch the sunset. And so fast it set! I would have missed it if I went there 1 min late. :)
Beautiful sunset Nana...and nampak best je pergi cruising..but being a penakut person, bila lah nak join such trip..hehehe..
so thanks for sharing the views onboard, looking forward to the next segment.
:-)

Hi Cheqna!
Thank you for the compliment. Cruising was fun. And the price was affordable too. Cheaper than flight! :)
